About FCCS

History:

In the summer of 1992, the Calvert County Commission on Aging discussed the need for forming an organization to help support the needs of the rapidly growing senior population.  The focus would be to provide resources that would not otherwise be available.

The Friends of Calvert County Seniors (FCCS) is a 501 (c) (3) private, tax exempt, charitable organization that was founded in January 1993. Its purpose is to provide financial assistance to eligible Calvert County residents aged 60 plus. This assistance helps them to remain independent and self-supporting.

Management:

FCCS is managed by a board of directors consisting of active and retired business and community members.

FCCS works closely with the Calvert County Office on Aging in providing assistance. The current board members are:

Harriet Yaffe – Chairperson

Mary Golway – Vice Chairperson

Vicky Balderson – Corresponding Secretary

Noelle Flaherty – Treasurer

Charles Harrell – Member

Shelby Oller – Member
